XILINX CHIEF INFORMATION OFFICER TO RECEIVE A
TRIBUTE TO WOMEN IN INDUSTRY AWARD FROM SANTA CLARA VALLEY
YWCA
SAN JOSE, Calif., May 3, 2004 - Xilinx, Inc. (NASDAQ: XLNX)
today announced its Vice President and Chief Information Officer,
Sheri Anderson, has been selected to receive a 2004 Tribute to
Women in Industry (TWIN) award from the Santa Clara Valley YWCA.
The YWCA TWIN Awards Program was established twenty years ago in
Santa Clara Valley to pay tribute to women in industry. The TWIN
Awards are given to 50 women in Silicon Valley each year who
exemplify excellence in senior-level positions along with the
companies that employ them.
Anderson receives this award for the second time in her career.
She received her first TWIN Award serving as chief information
officer of Novell six years ago. TWIN Award recipients represent a
cross-section of companies in the Valley including technology,
defense, communications, publishing, construction and healthcare,
among others. This year Anderson is among a list of women from
companies such as Agilent Technologies, Adobe Systems, Humane
Society Silicon Valley, IBM, Philips Semiconductors, San Jose
Mercury News, Second Harvest Food Bank and Sun Microsystems.
"Sheri is particularly deserving of this honor," said Xilinx
Chairman, President and CEO Wim Roelandts. "She bring a tremendous
amount of vision to her role as CIO and has done an excellent job
of positioning our IT organization for future growth. Sheri is also
much more than a CIO. She brings her keen business acumen and her
strong sense of community and leadership to the company. Since
coming to Xilinx, she has championed the role of women in
management and helped start the Xilinx Senior Women's Network, an
organization devoted to mentoring women in our company and
preparing them for leadership."
Anderson joined Xilinx in November 2001 as vice president and
chief information officer (CIO). At Xilinx, Anderson is responsible
for the computer systems, networks, databases and management
information systems, which support the company's business strategy
and link Xilinx closely with its partners and customers. Anderson
came to Xilinx from Novell Inc. where she served as the general
manager and senior vice president of Customer Services. She began
there in 1995 and was the CIO for five years. Additionally,
Anderson serves on various technical advisory committees and
industry associations.
